Students

It was found that 84% of young people were worried about climate change in a recent global survey, with the majority of them feeling powerless [1].

Background

The 1 in 5 project provides opportunities for students to be part of a collection of people working together on environment related issues- to combat these powerless feelings.

Aim

To get 1 in 5 students in their final year of their undergraduate degree to focus their work (be it a dissertation, composition, a show etc) on environmental change.

Students from all subject areas are encouraged to get involved, even if their degree isn’t related to the environment.

Your impact

Students will be a part of a group that are working together to tackle climate change- can turn some of their worries into action.

If 1 in 5 students partake, this means increased knowledge and confidence on the topic, which will cause a ripple effect onto interactions with others, leading to societal change.

Due to the law of truly large numbers, some pieces of work produced by the project will be of real significance and will make exceptional contributions to arts, science, politics and beyond.

It’s simple… so what are the next steps?
